The Goal

Assist this well-respected Syracuse law firm with tracking the firm's responses to requests for legal services, giving the marketing department a better sense of the overall success of the firm's proposals, an ability to track the lifecycle of any given proposal, and an easy way to produce and reuse proposals.

The Solution

We used ColdFusion and Microsoft Access to build a tracking system for Hancock's responses to legal RFPs. We integrated the software into both the firm's existing website content management system (also produced by us) and the firm's accounting software (to query billing rates). The RFP-response system we built allows marketing staff to specify which information to present for any new proposal - then produces a Microsoft Word document on the fly, with boilerplate language, attorney bios/photos/billing rates, and practice area descriptions prepopulated on a document formatted to fit custom stationery. An extensive set of reports offers info on proposals won/lost and other useful data.
