OOP PHP & symfony
With its latest (version 5) release, the open-source web application platform PHP offers significantly-improved object-oriented programming features. As such, we can build more complicated systems in PHP better, in less time.
We are big fans of symfony which, "[ba]sed on the best practices of web development, thoroughly tried on several active websites, ... aims to speed up the creation and maintenance of web applications, and to replace the repetitive coding tasks by power, control and pleasure." Built on top of PHP's newest object-oriented features, symfony (and other frameworks) further decrease our development time for web projects.
The symfony framework (and yes, that's supposed to be a lower-case 's') offers a host of useful features for developers, perhaps mostly importantly a strict separation between a web page's creative look, the interaction of the user, and the data involved. It allows for formatting URL addresses to be easier read by Google or users. It offers simple libraries for JavaScript, Ajax, and other other technologies. And symfony's scaffolding features help us to roll out content management features more quickly.
We have taught the fundamentals of object oriented programming in languages ranging from Java to JavaScript and PHP to ColdFusion. We have exploited the value of OOP development in all of these languages on countless commercial projects. As such, we are ideally suited to OOP work, both on our own projects and as partners in larger efforts.
