Search Engine Marketing

Search engine optimization is an increasingly-large part of our consulting practice. We perform audits/analysis, suggest structural modifications to site architecture and page code, assist with the setup and maintenance of pay-per-click programs such as Google AdWords, and manage link campaigns. SEO is an integral part of our planning for any new site or wholesale redesign project: we architect, write, and code sites for maximum visibility.

Much of our search engine marketing work is common sense: Do site pages (and their titles) feature the terms for which you wish to be found? Do other quality sites link appropriately to your site? Is the architecture of your site such that users (including Google's indexing bots) can follow links to content you want found?

We improve organic visibility for our clients in Google and other search engines by establishing clear goals for success, reducing markup cruft through use of CSS and tableless design, paying attention to title-tag language, and ensuring optimal keyword density in page text copy. We help our clients collect links to their sites from other relevant sites.

We manage pay-per-click campaigns for clients, advising on the best use of Google AdWords to further business or organizational goals. For some projects, we might consult on best use of ad language and distribution; for others, we monitor and update campaigns on a daily or weekly basis.

We find XML sitemaps an increasingly-important tool for SEO success. Now shared as a common protocal among top search engines (including Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft), XML sitemaps offer "an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling."
