Along with Barbara Genton, Brian Hoke will serve as Co-Chair of the 2010 Syracuse/Onondaga County Youth Board Allocations Committee. A long-standing member (and current Vice President) of the Youth Board, Brian will serve on the committee that allocates New York State funding for Central New York Youth Development programs. Meeting roughly every three years, the committee recommends to the full Youth Board – which in turn recommends to the County Executive – how to best spend state money for programs that help youth “live in a healthy and supportive environment; to grow to reach their fullest potential; to attain high academic achievement; to be socially, emotionally, and physically competent; to avoid unhealthy risk taking behaviors; and to be ready by age 21 to become active and productive members of society.”
