Brian Hoke will serve as President of the Syracuse/Onondaga County Youth Board as of October 2012. The Youth Board advises the County Executive and the Department of Aging and Youth on programs, policies, and procedures. The Allocations Committee of the Youth Board recommends allocation of New York State’s Youth Development and Delinquency Prevention (YDDP), Special Delinquency Prevention Programs (SDPP), and Runaway & Homeless Youth (RHYA) funding, meeting every three years to review and select applications from local agencies. Brian Hoke has served on the Youth Board for six years, most recently as Vice President and Co-Chair of the Allocation Committee.
In addition to his role with the Youth Board, Mr. Hoke also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Transitional Living Services, Inc. – a Syracuse nonprofit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and traumatic brain injuries – and as a member of the Advisory Committee of Syracuse Thursday Morning Roundtable.
Previously, Brian chaired the board Development Committee for the Onondaga Historical Association, sat on the Board of Directors of Leadership Greater Syracuse and the Future Fund of Central New York Steering Committee, served as Co-Chair of the Youth Leadership Greater Syracuse program from 2002 to 2005, and chaired the 40 Below Civic Engagement Task Force from 2007 to 2009.
